Summary of accommodation Villa Mediterranea is a standard but comfortable property, set in the countryside near the town of Floridia, within the Province of Siracusa. The main part of the villa includes two large lounges, a dining area, a kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms whilst a separate unit offers a bedroom and a bathroom. The villa also has a large swimming pool, shaded verandas and a large garden. Catania airport is approximately 1 hours drive away.

Accommodation details A private gate provides access to the main drive and the garden. A veranda located at the front of the villa then leads to the main entrance.

The main entrance leads into a lounge area, which features large windows providing the room with plenty of light. The room has been furnished with a sofa, armchairs and a coffee table. A few steps lead to a further larger lounge & dining area that has been furnished with a long wooden dining table and chairs (seats 12) a dresser and antique wood burning fireplace. Access from this room leads to a further lounge area which offers a large corner sofa, an armchair and a wood burning fireplace.

The kitchen is simply furnished with a table and chairs and offers various storage units, a double sink, oven and hob, extractor fan, kettle and a toaster. There is a small shelved store room which includes a fridge/freezer.

From the kitchen a corridor leads to the bedrooms and bathroom.

The first bedroom has been furnished with a cast-iron single bed, a bedside table and wardrobe. The second bedroom offers a cast-iron double bed, bedside tables and a wardrobe. The third bedroom is the largest of the rooms and has also been furnished with a cast-iron double bed, a chest of drawers and wardrobe. All three of the bedrooms benefit from exposed beamed ceilings and the windows are fitted with mosquito nets.

The large bathroom has been fitted with a bath, shower, sink, bidet and toilet.

There is also a separate unit to the main villa which offers a double bedroom with a further single bed, bedside tables and a wardrobe. The bathroom has been fitted with a shower, sink, bidet and toilet.

Outside area The villa has a large veranda to the front with a central gazebo furnished with a round table and surrounded by various trees. The swimming pool area is reached from this veranda which includes a large swimming pool with sun-loungers and outside shower. To one side of the pool there is a range of plants and shrubs whilst to the other side there is a lawn area with a further gazebo furnished with wicker table and chairs.

Towards the rear of the villa there is a changing area with shower, sink and changing cubicle and a second utility area with washing machine. Further back, there is a second covered veranda with a fitted external kitchen, two sinks, a stone built barbeque and a table and chairs. There is also a third covered veranda which can also be reached via the kitchen. The separate unit is located in front of the garden next to the entrance to the villa.

Pricing info The weekly pricing shown in the table below is based on up to eight people sharing the villa during Off Peak, Mid Season 1 & Peak.

The weekly price for this villa during Mid Season 2 is £1610 / €1850 per week.

Area info. The town of Floridia is approximately 3km away and offers restaurants, supermarkets, banks and shops whilst the larger town of Siracusa is approximately 15km away. Sites of interest within the main town of Siracusa include the ancient Greek Theatre, where performances are still staged during May & June and which forms part of a larger archeological park. The archeological museum has one of the best displays of archeological remains in Sicily. The old cathedral located in the heart of Ortigia date from 1728, but includes 8th century Norman artifacts.

Siracusa also offers beaches which are generally located to the south of the city and include the resorts of Arenella, Fontane Bianche and the protected coastline of Vendicari.

Further afield from Siracusa, but within easy driving distance are the Baroque towns of Noto, Modica, Ispica and Ragusa Ibla. The popular resorts of Taormina, Giardini Naxos and Letojanni are located north of Catania, whilst the imposing form of Mount Etna is easily visible from Siracusa and offers numerous opportunities for excursions.
