Hotel Tonnara di Bonagia is a four star hotel located in Valderice Mare within the Province of Trapani and offers stunning views of both the sea and the Egadi Islands. Originally built in the 17th century as a tuna fishery, the Tonnara has been totally restored to a high standard and now provides 102 rooms, a large swimming pool, restaurant, bar, tennis, children’s club and beautifully maintained gardens. The hotel is within easy driving distance of Palermo and Trapani airports.

The hotel occupies the site of a 17th century tuna fishery, which comprised of a main building for processing, a central courtyard, boathouses, numerous fisherman cottages, a watchtower and even a chapel. All of these areas have been restored using materials and techniques appropriate for the period and now offer 102 rooms, a restaurant, health & beauty centre, a large swimming pool, tennis facilities and a diving centre.
All of the hotel’s rooms and suites have been decorated and furnished to an excellent standard. The rooms have all been equipped with satellite television, a direct dial telephone, air-conditioning, mini bar, and safety deposit boxes. The rooms also offer ensuite bathrooms and a private balcony or terrace that overlook the sea, courtyard or gardens. The deluxe rooms and suites also offer a coffee making machine and a dvd player.
The hotel’s A La Carte restaurant is called ‘La Muciara’ and overlooks the small port of Valderice Mare. During July and August it is also possible to dine ‘al fresco’ in the main courtyard. The hotel also has a bar for guests to use which provides a snack menu.
The hotel offers a large swimming pool, which is open from June to September and provides numerous sun-loungers and wonderful sea views. There is also a private bridge that leads directly from the swimming pool to a private bay (rocks).
Other hotel services available include internet access, baby-sitting and dry cleaning.

The pricing for two guests sharing a deluxe double room is £150 per night (Off Peak), £182 per night (Mid Season) and £202 per night (Peak) on a bed and breakfast basis.
The pricing for two guests sharing a Junior Suite is £232 per night (Off Peak), £276 per night (Mid Season) and £340 per night (Peak) on a bed and breakfast basis.

The nightly supplement for a 3rd bed (adult) is £48 per night (Off Peak), £56 per night (Mid Season) and £68 per night (Peak).

A 3rd bed or cot for children under 3 is free of charge.

The hotel is located over looking the port in Valderice Mare within the Province of Trapani, whilst the airport at Palermo is within easy driving distance. The hotel has its own private access to the sea, although this is not a sandy beach. However, the coastal road between the hotel and the main town of Trapani features several sandy beaches. Slightly further afield there are a number of sites of interest within the province, including the hill-top town of Erice, which has retained much of its medieval character including a castle, an old city wall, paved streets and historical buildings. Other sites include San Vito lo Capo (long sandy beaches), Scopello, the Riserva dello Zingaro (nature reserve) and the temples of Segesta and Selinunte. The province of Trapani also offers stunning countryside, numerous beaches and bays along the coastline and there is also a ferry service from Trapani to the nearby Egadi Islands.
