The airport at Catania is under an hour’s drive away, whilst the baroque towns of Noto, Modica, and Ispica are within easy driving distance. | Accommodation details |
The hotel has been beautifully converted from a traditional Sicilian ‘manor house’. The renovation work has been completed to an extremely high standard and the attention to detail creates a comfortable and relaxing environment.
There are only 18 rooms, which include 13 doubles and 5 suites. Some of the rooms are located in the main building, whilst the others are grouped in themed areas within the grounds of the hotel. All of the rooms offer air-conditioning, safety deposit boxes, mini-bars, satellite televisions and ensuite bathrooms. Some of the suites also offer balconies overlooking the gardens and jacuzzi-style baths.
The main building also houses the hotel’s restaurant which offers breakfast, lunch and evening meals. There is also a bar which also provides a pool-side service.
The two swimming pools are located side-by-side and offer a large main pool and a smaller children’s pool with jacuzzi. There is also a newly opened health and beauty centre which includes asmall gym, sauna and beauty treatments for guests to enjoy. The rest of the garden area includes some stunning Mediterranean plants, including mature palms, cacti and olive trees. The nearby sandy beach at Arenella is connected to the hotel by a shuttle bus service.

| Area info. |
The area of Fanusa is between the two main sandy beach resorts of Arenella and Fontane Bianche.
Sites of interest within Siracusa include the ancient Greek Theatre, where performances are still staged during May & June and which forms part of a larger archaeological park. The Paolo Orsi museum has one of the best displays of archaeological remains in Sicily, whilst the old cathedral located in the heart of Ortigia dates from 1728 but includes Norman artefacts.
Siracusa also offers beaches which are generally located to the south of the city and include the resorts of Arenella, Fontane Bianche and the protected coastline of Vendicari.
Further afield from Siracusa, but within easy driving distance are the Baroque towns of Noto, Modica, Ispica and Ragusa Ibla. The popular resorts of Taormina, Giardini Naxos and Letojanni are located north of Catania, whilst the imposing form of Mount Etna is easily visible from Siracusa and offers numerous opportunities for excursions.
