Palazzo del Sale is located in the heart of Ortigia, the historical centre of Siracusa and approximately 1 hours drive from Catania airport The B&B has been decorated and furnished in a contemporary style. Each room has been individually styled and includes satellite flat-screen television, internet access, air-conditioning, mini-bar and an ensuite bathroom. There is also a communal lounge, kitchen area and terrace.

The B&B is located in an historical ‘palazzo’, which was originally used to store and sell salt and petroleum and this can be noted in the high ceilings and wooden beams. The entire building has been totally renovated in a typical Sicilian style and includes exposed stone walls and arches.
There are a total of 7 rooms which have all been individually furnished and decorated paying particular attention to detail.
All of the rooms include air conditioning, satellite flat-screen television, internet access, and mini-bar. All of the ensuite bathrooms have been fitted with modern, contemporary fittings and offer large walk-in showers, wash basin, toilet and bidet. In addition many of the rooms also offer either a small balcony or private terrace.
The B&B offers double, triple and quadruple rooms. There is also a communal lounge, kitchen area and terrace for guests to use.

Sites of interest within the city include the ancient Greek Theatre, where performances are still staged during May & June and which forms part of a larger archeological park. The archeological museum has one of the best displays of archeological remains in Sicily. The old cathedral located in the heart of Ortigia date from 1728, but includes 8th century Norman artifacts.
Please be aware that Ortigia is the historical centre of Siracusa. Bars, restaurants and residential properties are all within close proximity of each other and therefore accommodation in this area may be subjected to noise levels associated with town dwellings.
Ortigia has a number of sun-bathing platforms which provide access to the sea for swimming and sun-bathing (Peak periods only). Siracusa also offers beaches which are generally located to the south of the city and include the resorts of Arenella, Fontane Bianche and the protected coastline of Vendicari.
Further afield from Siracusa, but within easy driving distance are the Baroque towns of Noto, Modica, Ispica and Ragusa Ibla. The popular resorts of Taormina, Giardini Naxos and Letojanni are located north of Catania, whilst the imposing form of Mount Etna is easily visible from Siracusa and offers numerous opportunities for excursions.
