| Accommodation details |
Perhaps the most exclusive hotel on the Aeolian Islands, Capo Faro is an ideal location for honeymoons and couples aiming to enjoy a romantic break. In fact the accommodation is not recommended for families as children under 12 are not permitted at the hotel.
The hotel’s rooms and suites have all been built in a traditional Aeolian style, with flat roofs, whitewashed walls and terraces. All of the rooms have been elegantly furnished offering serene and stylish accommodation which includes a private terrace with breathtaking views of the sea. The superior rooms are slightly larger than the standard rooms with slightly larger terraces (some offer separate living areas) whilst the deluxe double rooms are the largest rooms with the biggest terraces and a separate bedroom and lounge area. The deluxe suites are larger than the standard and superior double rooms and include a lounge area. The exclusive suites offer the highest level of accommodation with the best positions, privacy and the largest terraces.
Room facilities include satellite television, air-conditioning, mini-bar, direct dial telephone and safety deposit box. Some of the rooms also include a jacuzzi bath – but all of the bathrooms have luxurious fittings.
The hotel features a large fresh water swimming pool (open Jun – Sep) that offers sea-views and is surrounded by large terrace areas that have been furnished with sun-loungers, umbrellas, tables and chairs. The hotel’s poolside restaurant specialises in locally caught sea-food and has an extensive wine list including the famous Malvasia wine, made from grapes grown in the hotel’s grounds. There is also a bar, a tennis court, well maintained gardens and it is only a short walk to the sea.

| Area info. |
The hotel is located on the north coast of Salina, the second largest island in the Aeolian archipelago after Lipari. The islands of Panarea and Stromboli are visible on a clear day, including the volcanic eruptions at night time. Salina took its name from the now disused salt mines at Lingua but was previously named Didyme (meaning twins) due to its distinctive two hump profile caused by the now extinct volcanic cones.
Famous for its grapes and capers, Salina is now a UNESCO World Hertigage site. It is a quiet island, rich in greenery and hosts the highest point of the archipelago, with Monte Fossa delle Felci towering in at almost 1000 meters above sea level, next to its twin Monte dei Porri. The cultivated fields are fed by natural springs of fresh water which allow the marvelous Malvasia grapes to grow as well as capers and cacti.
There are three small picturesque towns on the Island featuring some excellent restaurants. Santa Marina and Malfa are approximately 10 minutes from the hotel, whilst Rinella, made famous by the film ‘Il Postino’, is approximately 15 minutes away. All of the Island is well served by an efficient mini-bus shuttle service making it easy to explore the Island, although car and moped hire is also possible. The beach at Pollara on the west coast of the Island is also well worth visiting.
There are several options for travelling to and from the Aeolian Islands. Ferries and hydrofoils run from Milazzo to all of the Islands, but please refer to the ’Travel Info’ - Ferry section of the website for further information regarding travel to the Aeolian. For those flying to Catania, it is possible to take a taxi from the airport to Milazzo and then catch the hydrofoil. There is also a train service between Palermo and Milazzo.
