| Accommodation details |
The hotel was founded in 1949 and has been built in a traditional Aeolian/Mediterranean style. The sea-front position provides beautiful panoramic views and access to the beach which is a mix of black sand and shingle.
All of the rooms have been traditionally furnished and decorated and offer a terrace or patio area, satellite television, mini-bar, safe and ceiling fans. All of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms and air-conditioning has also been fitted, although this service is payable locally according to usage. Most of the rooms offer a sea view and third and fourth beds can also be provided.
There are two restaurants, one inside and a second open-air restaurant that both offer traditional Sicilian cuisine including vegetarian meals. The outside restaurant utilises three terraces and provides stunning sea-views. The hotel also provides two bars and terraces and gardens.
The hotel can organise a transfer service to and from the port for guests and their baggage. A “motoape” (three wheeled vehicle) is used for this purpose as the streets on the island are very narrow and only this type of vehicle can get around.

| Area info. |
Stromboli is perhaps the most captivating of all the Aeolian Islands, largely due to the presence of the still active volcano. The last substantial eruption was in 1996, but there are constant rumblings and lava flows which act as a magnet to travelers and scientists alike. Organised tours to the summit are available from the Alpine Guides office in Stromboli town centre, with perhaps the evening tours being the most popular. All of the villages on the island are found on the north-eastern side of the island, furthest away from the lava flows that are found on the north-western side and known as the Sciara del Fuoco. (Trail of Fire). Other popular activities include boat trips round the island, which enable visitors to see the lava flow meeting the sea and scuba diving in the crystal clear waters. The villages of San Bartolo, San Vincenzo, Scari and Ginostra provide numerous restaurants, shops and other amenities including an ATM and internet access.
There are several options for travelling to and from the Aeolian Islands. Ferries and hydrofoils run from Milazzo via Lipari to Stromboli, but please refer to the ‘Travel Info’ - Ferry section of the website for further information regarding travel to the Islands.
