Villa Gelso is situated in a quiet, rural location set back approximately 150m from a minor road. The 18th century building was originally part of a working farm, but has now been tastefully restored and converted into holiday accommodation. It is located 15km from the nearest beach and 20km from the main resort of Marina di Ragusa. The nearest town is the provincial capital, Ragusa, which is only 7km away, although there are restaurants located within 2km of the property.

The villa offers sleeping accommodation for up to five people, with one double bedroom and a twin bedroom along with a sofa bed in the lounge area.
The villa has a large Sicilian style kitchen, a lounge / diner, with working fireplace and a bathroom with shower. The property also benefits from a roof terrace, a large courtyard and a shaded outside eating area with barbeque.

The villa is accessed through a front door that leads directly into the lounge and dining area. The room has been restored using traditional Sicilian stone tiling and is furnished a sofa, occasional chairs and a dining table and chairs. There is also a traditional working fireplace and a television.
A door from the lounge leads to the kitchen that is equipped with an oven, hob, double sink unit and a fridge-freezer. There is also a kitchen table and chairs and an air-conditioning unit. The kitchen has been restored using traditional Sicilian ceramic tiles and is furnished with an antique dresser and other furniture.
There is also access to a downstairs guest bathroom with a toilet and sink and a further door that leads to the outside courtyard and shaded seating area.

A set of steps from the lounge leads up to the sleeping accommodation. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed and has storage for clothes. The second bedroom has been furnished with twin beds and has a large antique wardrobe for clothes storage.
The bathroom has been equipped with a shower unit, toilet, sink and bidet.
From the first floor there is access to a roof terrace that provides views of the surrounding countryside.

The property is accessed via private electronic gates and is set back approximately 150m from a minor road. There are two outside shaded areas, one that provides seating and the other that provides al-fresco eating, a bbq and two hammocks. There is also a courtyard area that provides further space for seating or eating if required. There is a small mature garden that has been planted with fruit trees and other Mediterranean plants.
The villa also has a private swimming pool set to the rear of the property.

The beach resort of Marina di Ragusa is located within the Province of Ragusa in the south-east of Sicily and two hours drive from Catania airport. The town features a sandy beach as well as numerous restaurants and bars, but is also within easy driving distance of the beach resorts of Marina di Modica and Donnalucata. The main sites of interest include the baroque towns of Modica, Noto, Ispica, Scicli and Ragusa Ibla, which as a group form part of a United Nations World Heritage site.
